Accessibility statement
Statement date: 2026-04-16 · Last reviewed: 2026-05-20
SOSEI is committed to making both the product website and every website we rebuild for our customers accessible to people with disabilities. This statement covers sosei.site, the dashboard at /dashboard, and the websites SOSEI publishes for customers under sosei.site/s/<slug> and on connected custom domains.
Standards we conform to
Both the SOSEI product and the websites we generate target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C. Where reasonable, individual surfaces exceed the baseline:
- Body text contrast — generated sites enforce a Level AAA ratio (7:1) on body copy, not just the AA 4.5:1 baseline. Muted-foreground text and accent-on-surface combinations are guarded at AA 4.5:1.
- Motion — every animation respects
prefers-reduced-motion. Users with motion sensitivity see static layouts with no parallax, slide-in, or auto-rotating effects. - Keyboard navigation— every interactive element is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. A “Skip to content” link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Screen readers — semantic HTML, ARIA labels on icon-only buttons, accessible names on every form input, and proper heading hierarchy (no skipped levels).
- Mobile zoom —
user-scalable=noandmaximum-scale=1are not used; visitors with low vision can pinch-zoom up to the device maximum.
Conformance status
Partially compliant. SOSEI conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA with the following known exceptions:
- Customer-uploaded media — when a customer imports their existing site, we preserve their original images. We add alt text only when an image is missing one and our vision pipeline produces a confident description; some images on rebuilt sites may carry their original alt text which we do not modify. Customers can edit alt text in the dashboard.
- Embedded third-party content— videos embedded from YouTube / Vimeo, maps from Google Maps, and social embeds (LinkedIn, X, Instagram) inherit the accessibility characteristics of the third-party provider. We add a transparent boundary box and the embed’s
titleattribute, but we do not modify the third-party iframe content. - Generated sites in non-English source languages — accessibility-statement and cookie-policy text is machine-translated from English; if you find a translation error that affects clarity in a non-English market, please report it (see Feedback below) and we will correct it manually.
Assistive technologies tested
SOSEI has been verified to work with the following combinations:
- VoiceOver (macOS 15+) with Safari and Chrome
- VoiceOver (iOS 17+) with Safari
- NVDA (latest stable) with Firefox and Chrome on Windows
- TalkBack (Android 14+) with Chrome
- Full keyboard navigation in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge
- Browser zoom up to 400% without horizontal scroll
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on SOSEI or on a site SOSEI hosts, we want to know. We aim to respond within three working days.
Email [email protected]with the subject line “Accessibility” and include:
- The URL of the page where you found the issue
- A short description of the barrier and what you were trying to do
- The assistive technology you were using (if relevant) and its version
Enforcement
EU residents who are not satisfied with our response can refer the matter to their national equality body or the national market-surveillance authority designated under the European Accessibility Act. For Estonia (where SOSEI is registered), the designated body is the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (ttja.ee).
